Football coaching services in North West London
At Constantine Academy, we're committed to helping young players in Edgware, Stanmore, Harrow, Colindale, and across North West London reach their potential through high-quality youth football coaching and purposeful training. Whether through one-to-one private coaching or structured group sessions, our services are designed to challenge, educate, and inspire players at every stage of their development.
Every session builds CONFIDENCE FIRST — technique, decision-making and game understanding follow naturally once a child feels SAFE ENOUGH TO TRY. Our FA-qualified coaches ensure players get the guidance and structure needed to progress with clarity, consistency, and belief — all grounded in the FA's Four-Corner model and tracked through an Individual Development Plan.
Private sessions
Our private football coaching sessions give players focused, one-to-one training designed to target key areas of technical ability, reaction speed, and cognitive development. Each session is planned around the individual player's needs, allowing for precise feedback and consistent progression.
Training drills are tailored to the player, helping improve game awareness, decision-making, and ball mastery under pressure — building a more composed, adaptable player equipped to apply skills confidently in competitive environments.
"I can't thank Radu enough for the positive impact he had on my child's development. I'd highly recommend him to any parent looking for a supportive, professional, and inspiring environment for their child to learn and grow through football."
— ParentGroup sessions
Our group football training sessions place players in a dynamic, supportive learning environment where development is driven through game-relevant situations. Training focuses on core player capabilities — scanning, timing, movement, technique, deception, and positioning — helping players make better decisions under pressure.
Each session balances individual skill development with teamwork, communication, and confidence-building, so players learn to apply their abilities in realistic game contexts and perform with clarity and confidence in competitive environments.
Which is right for your child?
Group sessions suit most children
If your child is new to organised football, or already playing and wants to get better alongside others, group sessions are the right starting point. They learn the game as it's actually played — with teammates, opponents, and the noise and decisions that come with it.
Private sessions suit specific goals
One-to-one coaching works best when there's something particular to fix or push. A child who's technically behind their age group and losing confidence. A goalkeeper who needs specialist work. A player preparing for an academy trial. Or simply a child who learns better without an audience.
Plenty of families do both — group sessions during the week, with private work added when something specific needs attention. YOU DON'T HAVE TO DECIDE NOW. Come to a taster session and we'll tell you honestly what would help your child most.
What a session actually looks like
Every session runs to the same structure, whichever age group your child is in. Parents are welcome to watch, and most do for the first few weeks.
Arrival and warm-up
Players get their boots on and start moving with a ball at their feet straight away. No standing around — the ball is out from minute one.
Technical work
The core skill for that session — first touch, passing, finishing, one-v-one. Repetition with a coach watching properly and correcting as they go.
Applying it in a game
Small-sided games where that skill has to work under pressure. This is where a technique stops being a drill and becomes something they can use on a Sunday.
Match play and feedback
A proper game, then a short debrief. Every child leaves knowing one thing they did well and one thing to work on before next week.
How we coach the whole player
We work to the FA's Four-Corner model, which sounds technical but is simple in practice: a footballer isn't just a set of skills. Four things have to develop together, and a child coached on only one of them will stall.
- Technical — first touch, passing, dribbling, striking the ball, and making the right decision quickly
- Physical — speed, balance, coordination and stamina, developed in a way that suits a growing body rather than an adult one
- Psychological — confidence, concentration, and the ability to make a mistake and carry on rather than hide
- Social — communication, listening, leadership, and being the sort of teammate other children want on their side
Every squad player's progress across all four is tracked in their Individual Development Plan, reviewed with them and shared with you.
What's included, and what to bring
- All coaching equipment, balls and bibs are provided
- Sessions run in all but genuinely dangerous weather — our Colindale venue is floodlit 3G, so winter isn't a problem
- Coaches are FA-qualified and DBS-checked, and we carry public liability insurance
- Bring football boots or trainers, shin pads, and a water bottle
- Shin pads are required for match play, and we'd encourage them in training too
Your child does not need club kit to start. Come in whatever they're comfortable in for the first few weeks.
Common questions
Can I stay and watch?
Yes, always. We'd rather you did, especially early on. All we ask is that coaching is left to the coaches during the session — children can't listen to two people at once.
What if my child doesn't know anyone?
Most don't when they start. Our coaches pair new players up deliberately in the first session, and small-sided games mean they're talking to teammates within minutes rather than standing on the edge.
My child isn't very confident. Is this right for them?
Often it's exactly right. We coach the person before the player, and a quieter child usually needs a coach who notices them rather than a louder environment. Come and watch a session before deciding.
How much does it cost?
Fees depend on which sessions your child attends, and we offer discounts for families with more than one child at the club. We also reserve places for families facing financial difficulty. Get in touch and we'll give you a straight answer.
What happens after the taster session?
Nothing automatic. There's no pressure and no obligation. If your child enjoyed it and you'd like them to continue, we'll talk you through joining. If not, that's genuinely fine.
"Radu's coaching style strikes the perfect balance between discipline, encouragement, and fun. He has a fantastic way of connecting with the kids, making every training session something Patrick genuinely looks forward to."
